Apalachicola is not a typical beach wedding. Historic downtown, the river, oysters, and a walkable grid of restaurants. Couples who pick it usually want character more than a postcard Gulf shot — or they split the weekend: ceremony on the island or the Cape, dinner in town.
We plan Apalachicola weddings and the logistics around them. We are a wedding planner, not a DJ or officiant. If you also need an officiant, that is a separate vendor — including our sister company You Had Me At I Do when that is the right fit.

Apalachicola is a downtown and river weekend
Historic grid, oysters, the river, and restaurants you can walk between. Couples who pick Apalachicola usually want character more than a Gulf postcard — or they split the weekend: ceremony on St. George Island or the Cape, dinner in town. We will not write beach-wedding copy over a downtown wedding.
Venue vs public space
A historic room, a lodge, a restaurant buyout, or a house near the river is a venue. The street and the waterfront are not your private aisle. Delivery trucks downtown have tighter turns than a Cape driveway. We plan load-in for the building you booked.
Rain and heat
The honest rain plan is an indoor historic room or a restaurant, reserved as the backup. “The porch” only works if that porch holds the guest count and the band. Brick and August heat are their own timeline problem — shade and a start time matter as much as a squall.
Parking, lodging, the island
Downtown parking is street and small lots. Guests may sleep in Apalachicola, Eastpoint, or on St. George Island. Island lodging adds the bridge to every rehearsal and dinner. We map who is where before we lock times. Ride-share is thin; someone owns the walk or the van.
Vendor travel
Local restaurants and florists already work this side of the coast. Out-of-area rental companies need a Franklin County drive in the quote. Coordination begins 6–8 weeks out so downtown access hours and the rain room are confirmed, not hoped.
